DRUFF … and it’s gone!
Who’s behind the original
We’re not a chemical factory with a glass palace and a press office. We’re a small company from Horn on Lake Constance that has been asking itself one question for more than ten years: why does cleaning have to smell like a swimming pool?
It all started with a cupboard full of warning symbols
Sound familiar? There are twelve bottles under the sink. One for the bathroom, one for the kitchen, one for the oven, one for something you bought back in 2017. On almost all of them: orange diamonds, skulls, exclamation marks. And the bin still smells.
That’s exactly what we wanted to change. Instead of putting yet another bottle on the shelf, we looked for a better idea – and found it: Microbes. Tiny helpers that don’t cover up dirt and odours but simply eat them. That idea became DRUFF.
For more than 10 years we’ve been bringing DRUFF to you from Switzerland: from Horn in the canton of Thurgau, right on Lake Constance. The company behind the brand is Selwie GmbH, run by Michel Seelau. A small company where the boss still answers the phone himself … sorry, the emails.
Small but mighty
Less chemicals. Less plastic. No warning symbols.
Less chemicals
Instead of harsh chemicals, we send in microbes. They break down dirt and the sources of odours instead of covering them up with perfume. Thorough, but friendly.
Less plastic
DRUFF is a concentrate. You mix it with water at home. One bottle replaces ten ready-to-use bottles with the standard version and twenty with the super concentrate. Your recycling bin will miss you.
No warning symbols
Our goal is cleaners that don’t need hazard labels. We’ve achieved that with our microbial all-purpose cleaners, and that’s the benchmark for every new product.
Made in Germany, tested inside and out – skin included
Our cleaners are made in Germany: to our own recipe, with long-standing partners and short supply routes. Every batch has to meet the same standards as the very first one.
And because “just trust us” isn’t proof of quality, we have them tested: our cleaners are vegan, cruelty-free and were rated “very good” by Dermatest for skin compatibility. You’ll find the reports under Test reports.
How our microbes work
- Shake: The microbes sleep as a light sediment. A good shake wakes them up.
- Spray: On the surface they get going and munch away organic dirt and odours.
- Wipe: Leave it for a moment, wipe off, done. The workforce takes care of the rest in the background.
From the cleaning cupboard to the TV screen
Maybe you’ve already seen us: Michel Seelau presented DRUFF on the teleshopping channel CHANNEL21 and showed live what microbes get up to on tiles, upholstery and grill grates. Spoiler: the grill lost.

We only promise what our products deliver. Limescale, for example, is something microbes can’t handle. That’s what our Bathroom & Limescale Cleaner is for. Simple as that.

One concentrate for almost everything: kitchen, bathroom, floor, upholstery, car, pet corner. More space in the cupboard, more time for the things that matter.
Personal
